I have vivid memories of being in the first grade and struggling with reading. I am not quite sure what happened, but at some point, it all just clicked and I have been devouring books and filling up journals ever since.

In high school, I was winning fiction writing awards, but I decided to go the more academic route and pursued two degrees in English Literature.

After eight years of teaching at the college level, I entered the world of marketing. That was about fifteen years ago.

My career as a writer means that I am constantly learning new things while also getting to hone my craft and collaborate with other creatives. It’s not a bad gig.

Outside of writing, you can find me mentoring student-athletes at NCSU, playing with my dogs and a rotating cast of foster dogs, and being as physically active as possible.
